As a second-generation Mexican-American born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, the southernmost point of the Texas-Mexico border. This region, commonly known as the Rio Grande Valley, remains a unique place for its fusion of Mexican and American cultures. The result of his  lived experience has mirrored his engagement with traditional rendering that challenges contemporary drawing and painting.

His artistic endeavors typically use the human form as a vessel to speak on socio-political concerns that are most important to him. Many of his subjects are either compositionally divided or include a mixture of representational, abstract, and multi-media approaches, all of which act as a metaphor for his own upbringing along the United States-Mexico border.

He now contextualize his life within the southern Arizona border, seeking to gain a better understanding of his ethnic background while framing ideas on place, identity, assimilation, acculturation, immigration, repression, and cultural misconceptions.
